"Fostering growth of quality and sustainable employment and training outcomes through group training" GTA(WA) 2007
Group Training Australia (WA) is the peak body representing member group training organisations in Western Australia. GTA (WA) was incorporated in 1993 as a not for profit Association.
Group Training Organisations employ the largest number of apprentices and trainees in Western Australia with nearly 5000 apprentices and trainees. 23% of apprentices are employed by Group Training, 42% of these apprentices are in the Building and Construction Industry. 41% of apprentices and trainees are employed by Group Training Organisations in regional WA.
A group training organisation (GTO) employs apprentices and trainees under a training contract and places them with host employers for the duration of their training contract.
The GTO is responsible for the quality and continuity of the apprentices' and trainees' employment and training and also provides any additional support required to ensure successful completion of the training qualification.
GTA(WA) members are located throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia and they deliver services to a range of industries.
